Peter Feldmann and the Very Lonesome Boys perform a wide variety of music, primarily in "traditional" bluegrass style, heavily influenced by old time Appalachian string music.  Their repertoire ranges from Elizabethan-era ballads to Appalachian songs and breakdowns; from country blues to modern bluegrass and beyond.   The band plays straight, unadulterated bluegrass, including high energy instrumentals and heartfelt singing.

A singer and multi-instrumentalist with many years' performing experience throughout California and the West, Peter has been presenting bluegrass, folk, string band, and related musics since the early 1960's, and is known as the founder of the Santa Barbara Old Time Fiddler's Convention, and the original Bluebird Café in Santa Barbara, a music club highly influential on the Southern California Music scene. Peter's tribute CD to Uncle Dave Macon, "Grey Cat On The Tennessee Farm", was named to the nation's Top Ten Bluegrass albums of 2005 by the Chicago Tribune.

The five-piece Very Lonesome Boys band includes bassist Tom Lee, veteran of the Cache Valley Drifters and The Bluegrass Cardinals, Mike Nadolson, head of Tricopolis Records in Orange County plays Martin flat-top guitar. The banjo duties are ably handled by record producer David West (Play Ball Productions), known also for his song writing and engineering skills, while Tommy Marton, a leading exponent of Texas contest style fiddling as well as bluegrass music, will preside on fiddle. Together now for ten years, the band has performed throughout Southern and Central California at festivals, clubs, and college concerts. They've entertained cowboy trail riders, at calf-ropings, weddings, and fund raisers, survived an audience of more than six thousand masked Halloween revelers, and even an alien UFO abduction.

Band members:  Tommy Marton has a great sense of finesse, blending several bluegrass, old time, and western contest fiddle styles. David West is known as one of the founding members of the Cache Valley Drifters, and currently divides his time between performances and record production for the Los Angeles - based CMH Records. Tom Lee is one of the West Coast's premire bass players in bluegrass, jazz, and blues circles, and toured with the Cache Valley Drifters and the Bluegrass Cardinals. Our guitarist, Mike Nadolson of Lake Elsinore, is a great singer as well as a hot picker, and also runs Tricopolis Records, a new venue for western bluegrass bands.  The VLB enjoy singing, and their 2, 3, and 4-part arrangements confirm their dedication to bringing the very best of their abilities to each performance.
