Last month, I got a call from David Grier<\/strong> of Nashville, who said he’d be passing through town and doing a show at Jensen’s Music in Santa Barbara. We had time for lunch and a very informal jam session before the sound check, and I had a chance to catch up on all the latest music news.<\/p>\n

David’s working on a new CD with a wide variety of artists and instruments – maybe out later this year, maybe the next. At any rate, he asked me to pick a few tunes with him during the show, produced at Jensen’s by Barry McGuire. David, son of former Blue Grass Boy, banjo player Lamar Grier<\/strong>, is just getting better and better at his music, and I had a wonderful time picking with him.
